Monk

Monks don’t fight or heal: they convert. They’re trained at the Monastery by every faction.

Converting

A monk converts another player’s troops and carters out in the open (not inside a building or aboard a machine), and their siege machines. Bandits can’t be converted.

Send a monk at an enemy and it starts chanting once within 5 tiles. A conversion can’t happen in the first few minutes of chanting, gets likelier the longer it goes on, and is certain after about half an hour. Moving out of reach starts it over. After a conversion, the monk’s faith refills over 3 hours before it can convert again. Its panel shows “Faith”.

Monks need books (Iron Teeth: coffee) to convert. They start with none, so supply them before sending them out.

A converted troop joins the nearest of its new owner’s barracks that trains its kind, fully trained and keeping its rank. With no such barracks, it becomes an ordinary beaver.

A converted machine changes owner and throws out its crew.

Both sides get a notification. Monks never convert an ally’s troops.

Looks

Monks wear a robe, brown for Folktails and grey for Iron Teeth, trimmed in their owner’s color. Select one to hear it.
